Truths and Lies
This game - also called "two lies, one truth", is a simple, fun and quick way for team members to get to know each other. Start by sitting in a circle with your face towards the center. Instruct everyone to come up with two truths and one lie about themselves in a couple of minutes. It is not necessary, but if you want, you can write down your information on a piece of paper and then mark what is a lie and what is a truth. Pick a random piece of paper or pick a person to start telling their lies and truths. Then have the rest of the group discuss and decide what is true and what is false. Then the person reveals their lie and the game moves on to the next person.
Tasks around Stockholm
This is a really fun staff activity to boost morale. The game engages the staff and really kicks off the atmosphere in the office. Divide your staff into pairs or groups and send them on missions close to the workplace
An assignment could be, for example:
- Find a store/business and create a short marketing video about how you specifically can promote it. The video should be filmed outside the chosen store/business.
- Tell us about a historical monument (video)
- Which group can get the best discount at a store? Here you can first choose the type of store - for example, grocery store/clothing store/electronics store, and more.
The harder the mission, the more points it's worth. The team with the most points wins!
Sort out
This game helps with problem solving, cooperation and communication in the group. The activity may take a little longer depending on how the groups work together. Everyone should stand shoulder to shoulder in a circle with their faces towards the center. Each participant extends a hand towards the center of the circle and grabs the hand of another participant. Then repeat this with the left hand. However, participants must not hold hands with people they are standing next to. It is now time for the participants to work together to successfully unravel this knot that has been created. This exercise can be made more difficult by closing your eyes while holding each other's hands.
DJ Battle
In London "This game is a big hit at corporate events. I divide the group into teams and conduct a DJ lesson with each team. The ideal team size is 3-4 people. While I'm teaching one team, the others mingle, and it's important that the other teams don't hear the DJ lesson. The lesson lasts about 15 minutes per team.
Once all teams have had their lesson, it's time for a 'DJ Battle'. The team with the best performance, featuring a good mix and song, wins! You can choose to have the competition at the office or another venue. It can be fun to select songs based on any theme the event might have. Volleyball Message
This game is a fun and easy way to get to know your colleagues. Both at work and privately. As the name suggests, you will need a volleyball for this activity. Before the game starts, write random questions on the ball with a permanent marker. It can be simple and fun questions, maybe something to do with work? For example. "What's your favorite lunch spot?" or "What is your main daily task at work?" Mix it up to get the most out of the game. Put on some music and then have the participants stand in a circle with their faces towards the center. Then throw the ball around the ring and stop the music at random times. Whoever holds the ball when the musicians stop must answer a question. If the same person catches the ball twice when the music stops, they pass the ball to the person on their right.
"Slip n' Slide Football and Baseball"
WARNING: You will get wet during this game, therefore it is best suited outdoors, on a large open area, with good weather (Unless you are some really tough Swedes).
For this game, you'll need:
- A large beachball/volleyball that can be kicked quite far.
- A Slip n' Slide mat.
- 4 small splash pools.
- Water
- A mild soap that won't cause skin irritation.
Buy enough Slip n Slide tracks to build a baseball field. Place the splash pools as your 4 bases on the field. Then evenly distribute the soap on the Slip n' Slide track.
Fune Song Game
This is a game where you'll laugh and look a bit silly. For this game, you'll need slips of paper where you'll write down a famous song title on each one. Divide the staff into two groups. Each team member should describe what they do at work using the tune/melody of the song on the slip. If you find this too difficult, you can come up with your own rules with a similar concept. When one team performs, the other team watches (and will definitely have a good laugh).
Choose a person in the team to start singing. The rest of the team should guess which song it is. The challenge is to sing about your job, but in the same tune/melody as the song on the slip. The person who guesses the right song becomes the next singer. The team continues to rotate and tries to guess as many as possible in 5 minutes (you can set your own time limit). When the time is up, the teams switch places, and the team with the most points wins.
Karaoke
There's probably no better way than karaoke to get people to let loose and step out of their comfort zone. You can even have a competition if you want. Why not go all the way with funny hats and the occasional feather boa?
