I’ve played at weddings, corporate events and private parties in many of Stockholm’s most popular venues. The best thing about the job is always the same: when the dinner is over, the guests pluck up the courage to take that first step, and the dance floor suddenly really comes to life.

As a DJ, you quickly realise whether the venue is helping the party along or holding it back. Some venues need a gentler intro. Others need energy straight away. Sometimes it’s the first dance that gets the evening off to a flying start; sometimes it’s an unexpected track that gets the whole table on their feet.

Here are a few venues where I’ve played or where London DJs have plenty of experience. Every venue has its own rhythm, and that’s the rhythm you want to capture before you pick up the tempo.
Kräftan Inn
